Ida Rolf:
1916 She graduates in Biochemistry at Bernard College in the Bronx
1920 Doctorate at the Rockefeller Institute - College of Medicine - in Biochemy, the main focus of her thesis: body tissue, especially connective tissue (fascia)
1920-1960 Because of her son's physical restrictions, she begins her practical work. She gains further experience in working and experimenting with friends and relatives. She also investigates intensively other methods of healing such as chiropractic, osteopathy, yoga, psychotherapy and various forms of energy work. From all these she develops Structural Integration, for which she becomes famous.
1960 Ida Rolf treats celebrities such as Fritz Perls and Marlene Dietrich. She also has friendly contact with other major therapists such as Moshe Feldenkrais.
1968 Ida Rolf passes on the concept of Structural Integration, with its ten systematically coordinated sessions, to a few selected therapists, training them at the Esalen Institute in California.
1973 Ida Rolf founds the Rolf Institute in Boulder, Colorado, with a small group of trained therapists.
1979 Ida Rolf dies at the age of 84.
